Henry Keeling claimed to have worked in Russia during the First World War and the 1917 revolution, initially as a mechanic and later as a photographer for Anatoly Lunarcharsky, the Commissar for Education. After leaving in 1919, he wrote this critical account of the Bolshevik Government. The front cover of his book depicts Leon Trotsky as a spider.
