International youth day celebrations in Moscow, 1924

In 1924, International Youth Day was celebrated in Russia on September 7. This photo was brought back by the TUC Delegation to the Soviet Union, 1924. The TUC delegation visited Russia, Ukraine the Caucasus and other areas of the Soviet Union between November-December 1924.

The big banner with the initials in Cyrillic M.Yu.D. is International Youth Day. The banner in front of it says “Hold tightly to our youth” and “Testament of the proletariat.”
