National Health Service proposals, 1944

This 1944 pamphlet from the Hospitals and Welfare Services Union welcomes Government proposals for the establishment of a National Health Service as part of post-war reconstruction. However, it expresses concerns about the conditions of employment for health workers under the new scheme and pressures from the British Medical Association and the British Hospitals Association to limit its coverage.
