Interview with Len Murray , part of the TUC Millennium Film Project
Lionel (Len) Murray (1922-2004) was born into a family of farm workers in Telford, Shropshire. He joined the TUC as an assistant in the Economics Department in 1947 and became Head of that Department in 1954. He was General Secretary of the TUC, 1973-1984 and was created Lord Murray of Epping Forest in 1985.
